Sergi Escandell is a freelance underwater cinematographer with over 15 years of experience filming marine wildlife for major nature documentaries. His work has taken him from the Balearic Islands to remote locations around the world, collaborating with production companies and broadcasters such as BBC NHU, National Geographic, Netflix and Disney+.

Specialised in capturing marine animals of all sizes, Sergi is equally skilled in dynamic situations like feeding frenzies, as well as in technical shoots using rebreathers, macro, time-lapse and motion-control systems to reveal intimate behavioural moments.

He also films scientists and researchers in action, both underwater and on land, with a cinematic style that conveys the emotion and integrity of their work.

Sergi is a certified commercial and rebreather diver, a licensed drone pilot, and co-director of several wildlife films broadcast on Arte TV, TVE and other international networks.
