Sergi Escandell is a freelance underwater cinematographer, topside cameraman and drone pilot with over 15 years of experience filming wildlife documentaries, feature films and commercials. His clients include BBC NHU, Disney+, National Geographic, Netflix, TwentyFourSeven, Palma Pictures and others.

He co-wrote, co-directed and filmed underwater for Wild Spain, The Tale of Two Brothers & Wildlife Filmmakers, broadcast by Arte TV, TVE and other international channels.

Specialised in filming marine wildlife of all sizes, Sergi is equally skilled in high-energy sequences like feeding frenzies and in technical shoots using rebreathers, time-lapse, macro and motion-control gear.

He also films people out and underwater, creating cinematic lighting setups. Certified commercial diver and rebreather diver, he offers underwater kit rental (Arri, Red, Sony, Canon, Phantom) and licenses a growing library of stock footage of marine animals and ecosystems worldwide.
