Sergi Escandell (1988) is a DP expert in underwater filming for renowned international production companies for commercials, fiction and wildlife documentaries. He is also a proficient drone pilot and topside cameraman. His extensive repertoire includes capturing animal behaviour, as well as human subjects, both in and out of the water. Sergi possesses a refined sense of storytelling and his underwater sequences are distinguished by their meticulous and elegant action sequencing, with graceful and precise movements. He has contributed to over thirty nature documentaries, some of them for channels and production companies such as Netflix, PBS, BBC, Wild Space, Brian Leith, Arte, among others. As well as a myriad of advertising campaigns and other fictional productions. In 2023, Sergi was working with the renowed cinematographer Didier Noirot for an underwater documentary produced by Subimagery Productions. His work has been featured in award-winning projects at international festivals. Escandell has also written and directed his own documentaries for television and cinema.
